The marble funerary lekythos of Myrrhine, found in Athens (420-410 BCE). The Olympian god Hermes Psychopompos (portrayed in the semi-nude as Escorter of Souls) leads the young Myrrhine to the Underworld. On the left are the dead woman’s relatives led by an old man, probably her father, who waves her farewell. Height 1,36 m.
